Chanute, KS, March 17th, 2025 – The pieces fell into place at Chanute Public Library’s Second Annual Puzzle Tournament held Saturday, March 15th as ten teams raced against the clock to complete a puzzle.

Congratulations to the winning team, “The Get It Togethers” – Gail and Amelia Klaassen and Grace Chambers – who completed their puzzle in an impressive 16 minutes and 26 seconds. They took home the traditional Grand Prize: a can of brown bread.

Finishing in second place with a time of 25 minutes and 20 seconds, Sarah and Sadie John: “The Jigsaw Jokers”. They claimed a crunchy reward: a selection of flavored roasted crickets.

In third place with a time of 29 minutes and 37 seconds, “The puzzle-Dents”: Adrianne and Rylee Dent, who were mercifully spared from any strange foods and still get bragging rights.

Meanwhile, our last-place finishers, “The Little Bugs” (Judy Adams and Katie Ranabargar), walked away with a truly unique consolation prize: a tiny violin programmed with sad music.

“Congratulations to all participants,” Chanelle Gontarz, adult services and outreach librarian, said. “Whether a first or last finish, you made this event a success. The library hopes to see everyone again next year for more fast-paced puzzling fun!”
