Buy a sweet treat for your sweetie on Friday, February 14th, 2025, as part of the Friends of Chanute Library’s annual Everything Chocolate Sale.

The sale will start at 9 am and end when everything is sold out. All treats will be prepared by volunteers and proceeds will go directly to FOCL. It is one of two major fundraising events, the other being the Artist Alley Book Sale.

“This is a fun time for our volunteers to gather and check out all the goodies everyone bakes,” Jeana Lawrence, library director, said. “It’s also a great way to support the library and our Friends group.”

FOCL supports various projects around the library, including the Story Walk behind the library, automatic door openers, and programs and activities for children of all ages during the summer reading program.

For volunteering opportunities, volunteers can bring baked goods to the library on Thursday, February 13th before 5 pm. Volunteers are also need to help wrap goods at 5 pm on February 13th or can help sell chocolate on Friday, February 14th. If volunteers are interested in helping out, please contact Jeana Lawrence at the library at 620-431-3820.

“Of course, the best way to help out is to stop by the library and buy some chocolate,” Lawrence said.
