Happy New Year! If you made any new year resolutions to read more, look no further. We have plenty of programs that will help you on your reading goals, plus great new books!

First, we encourage families to sign up for Litwits, which is on its third year! Litwits is a family reading challenge, so now is the time to sign up and get started. Families are given a book once a month and read it aloud together. Books range from picture books for your littles to chapter books for your older kids. Once you have read the book, complete a survey and return it to the library. Every quarter, if you have filled out all three surveys, you receive a special prize. At the end of the year, if you completed three of the four quarters, you’ll be invited to our Litwits party next January!

We are also starting kids programming with Story Time and Rhyme Time starting the week of January 15th. Sign up is required for kids ages 3 and 4 for Story Time, but bring you babies and toddlers to Rhyme Time and enjoy watching them learn the magic of reading and singing!

Get ready for a new adult winter reading challenge, Book Bingo! Pick up a Bingo card downstairs at the front desk. One row of Bingo will enter you into a drawing for a $10 gift card while a blackout on the card will enter you for a $25 gift card. This challenge is from now until March 30th, so start reading!

Is one of your new goals this year to get organized? Join us for a vision board and planner party on January 11th from 4-6pm! Crafters will learn to create a vision board for 2024 and be provided with stickers, markers, and more to help plan out your year. Be sure to bring your own planner.

Are you a puzzle master? Put your skills to the test with our new Puzzle Tournament on January 27th from 1-3pm. Teams are given a puzzle to solve within a set time period and the first team to finish their puzzle wins the tournament! This is an all ages tournament, but we recommend an adult sign up with each team. Maybe you have a family of master puzzle solvers and don’t even know it yet!

Lastly, don’t forget about our new stitching group, every Wednesday from 5-6pm! Enjoy great conversations and make progress on that knitted blanket or sweater you said you’d always finish. We encourage new learners stop by and learn knitting, crochet, or any other kind of stitching project you want to bring!

Here are some upcoming new releases: Ann O by Matthew Blake; The Busy Body by Kemper Donovan; Come and Get It by Kiley Reid; The Curse of Pietro Houdini by Derek Miller; Everyone on This Train is a Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson; The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins.
